When it rains it pours, and the Carolina Panthers are currently experiencing quite the storm. But at least there may be a bit of light under center.
There was no shortage of hard-hitting injuries in Sunday's 21-18 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Carolina lost the likes of wide receiver Jalen Coker and starting cornerbacks Mike Jackson and Jaycee Horn, who may be done for the season due to a significant groin tear
.Quarterback Bryce Young also came away hurting, after taking one of his three sacks on the afternoon. Young did finish the game with what appeared to be a foot injury, but the Panthers are still going to give him a look.
Head coach Dave Canales told reporters on Monday that Young is undergoing imaging ahead of the team's Week 4 contest
against the Detroit Lions.
"He was sore a little bit," Canales stated. "I think he took a cleat, I can't remember exactly where. So there was some soreness. He battled through it, was able to finish. We're looking at him too, making sure everything's right. We don't wanna just assume that he's okay because he finished the game.
"So we're gonna take a look at that, but I expect Bryce to be playing this week."
Young, who was clearly bothered by the issue throughout the game, ended up completing 26 of his 48 throws for 291 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Barring a wild outburst from Jalen Hurts and/or Case Keenum in tonight's matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears, Young will come away from Week 3 as the NFL's leader in passing yards at 939.
