The Carolina Panthers have parted ways with a cornerback who had some relatively deep ties to former defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero.
As announced on Tuesday, the team has released Robert Rochell from the practice squad.
Rochell played in three games this season, all of which came as a standard elevation. With those three elevations from the practice squad, the Panthers would've had to sign the sixth-year veteran to the active roster to keep him around.
His NFL journey began in 2021, as a fourth-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams. Evero was also with the Rams that year, serving in his final campaign for the organization as the secondary coach and defensive passing game coordinator.
Over his three contests here in 2026, Rochell totaled one tackle—with
all 37 of his snaps coming on special teams. He also made four appearances for Carolina in 2025.
