The Carolina Panthers aren't quite ready to commit to the return of one of their top pass catchers.
Refreshed off his team's Week 5 bye, head coach Dave Canales took to the lectern and spoke with reporters on Monday afternoon. He addressed the outlook for wideout Jalen Coker, who missed the Week 4 win over the Detroit Lions due to a quad injury.
"He had a great bye week. Just continuing to ramp up every day, with some rest in there as well," Canales stated of Coker.
"Jalen's on track. He's got a couple of big days ahead of him. I'll give you more information as the week goes on. But we'll get a great opportunity tomorrow to get on the field and to take a look at some things, and then see if we can continue to progress."
Coker injured his quad in the
Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns. The third-year receiver had entered the contest nursing an ankle he sustained in the regular-season opener.
Week 6 will see the Panthers travel to take on the 2-3 Philadelphia Eagles.
