A former Carolina Panthers lineman didn't last very long on the "open" market.
Per Wednesday's transaction wire, the Arizona Cardinals have claimed offensive tackle Albert Reese IV off waivers. The 24-year-old rookie was waived from the Panthers' active roster on Tuesday.
Prior to entering the pros, Reese spent five seasons as a standout at Mississippi State University. He was awarded the Kent Hull Trophy, the honor given to the best college football offensive lineman in the state of Mississippi, for his efforts from the 2024 campaign.
Carolina would sign Reese as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-7, 325-pounder made quite an impression during the summer, where he appeared in all four preseason contests at right tackle,
before making the cut for the team's initial 53-man roster.
Reese was a healthy scratch in each of the Panthers' five regular-season games.
