What is the story about?

Any given week, we have no clue what to expect from the Carolina Panthers—who some consider the most unpredictable team in the league. When they come ready to play, they're capable of upsetting even the best teams in the NFL. When they don't, they could lose to anybody—up to and including Deshaun Watson's Cleveland Browns.

So, while we don't know if they'll be playing at their best this week, we at least know that they'll be looking their best.

Earlier today, the team shared a teaser on Twitter/X—hinting that they will be wearing their all-black uniforms for Sunday night's home game against the Detroit Lions.

No matter what the Panthers are wearing, the Lions won't make for an easy

challenge.

To begin their season, they beat the New Orleans Saints in overtime, 31-30. In Week 2, they rallied against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, but lost 41-31. This past week, they beat the Jets, 31-24.

While the odds are against it happening four weeks in a row, it's going to be tough for the Panthers to beat them if they score 31 points again—although a shootout is their only realistic hope for an upset.

On the other hand, Carolina has a strong (if short) record wearing their all black look. While they're just 4-18 all time with black pants, black jerseys and silver helmets, they are 2-0 with the black helmets—which appears to be the plan based on this follow-up post . . .
