The Carolina Panthers announced a few roster moves before tonight's kickoff against the Green Bay Packers.
Cornerback Akayleb Evans, who was already ruled out of the contest with triceps and knee injuries, has been placed on injured reserve. Carolina has signed rookie cornerback Malcolm DeWalt IV from the practice squad in Evans' place on the 53-man roster.
To help boost their depth, the Panthers also elevated a pair of practice squad players—offensive lineman Jake Curhan and cornerback Marco Wilson.
Curhan is one of several former Seattle players to follow head coach Dave Canales to Carolina. He spent the first three years of his career with the Seahawks, followed by one one in Chicago and one in Arizona before he joined the Panthers. He appeared
in 13 games last season, but only started one—the Week 13 win against the Los Angeles Rams.
Wilson was a fourth-round pick by the Cardinals in the 2021 NFL draft out of Florida. He spent three seasons in Arizona before moving on to New England and Cincinnati. All together, Wilson has appeared in 64 career games, totaling 179 combined tackles, three interceptions and 20 pass breakups.
