The Carolina Panthers will likely be without star cornerback Jaycee Horn for the foreseeable future.
As reported by multiple outlets on Monday afternoon, Horn sustained a significant quad tear in Sunday's 21-18 loss to the Cleveland Browns. The injury occurred late in the fourth quarter, as the two-time Pro Bowl defender went down in the end zone on the Browns' go-ahead touchdown connection between quarterback Deshaun Watson and tight end Harold Fannin Jr.
Per NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Horn could be lost for the remainder of the campaign. Rapoport notes that the 26-year-old is seeking a second opinion on the tear and is likely to land on injured reserve.
But perhaps there's a glimmer of hope that Horn will return at some point in 2026.
According to ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler, Horn could miss six to 12 weeks. If that's the case, even on the high end, he could be back for the final few games of the regular season and, if Carolina can make it there, the playoffs.
For now, we wait on official word from the Panthers.
