The Carolina Panthers' upcoming opponent will be without their quarterback on Sunday.
As announced by the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hurts will not play in the Week 6 matchup against the Panthers due to a small blood clot in his calf. The team released the following statement this afternoon:
— Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) October 15, 2026
Hurts has started in all five games for Philadelphia this season—totaling 933 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions. The Eagles, going into Week 6, rank 31st in total offense (262.2 yards per game) and 29th in scoring (18.4 points per game).
In addition to Hurts, Philly could also be without star running back Saquon Barkley and wide receiver DeVonta Smith—both of whom are dealing with hamstring injuries. Barkley and Smith were
listed as non-participants at Wednesday's practice.
Outside of Hurts, the Eagles' quarterback room includes fourth-year veteran Tanner McKee and 2026 fifth-round pick Cole Payton.
