The Carolina Panthers were very hard at work on Sunday, and not only with deciding upon the players who were already a part their roster.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Panthers are acquiring defensive lineman TeRah Edwards in a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers. Per Rapoport, Carolina will send San Diego a 2028 sixth-round pick in the exchange.
Before entering the pros a year ago, Edwards split his five-year collegiate career between Northwestern University (2020 to 2021) and the University of Illinois (2022 to 2024). Over that run, he amassed 67 combined tackless (7.0 for a loss), 4.0 sacks, a forcedd fumble and a fumble recovery
The 6-foot-2, 305-pounder did not appear in a regular-season game in 2025. He did make three
appearances for the Chargers during the preseason—where he recorded 10 combined tackles, 11 pressures and seven stops.
