The Carolina Panthers are coming out of Week 8 with a bit of a different defensive coaching staff.
On Friday, following their 27-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers, the Panthers parted ways with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and defensive passing game coordinator Jonathan Cooley. Their immediate adjustments upon those dismissals were headlined by a bump in duties for defensive line coach Todd Wash, who will now take over as the interim defensive coordinator.
Monday would also bring about some change, as the team brought back DeAngelo Hall as their cornerbacks coach. Hall served as Carolina's assistant defensive backs coach in 2023 and 2024, the first season for head coach Dave Canales.
So here, as announced this morning, is the updated staff
going into Week 9:
- Interim defensive coordinator: Todd Wash
- Assistant defensive coordinator/linebackers coach: Peter Hansen
- Outside linebackers coach/run game specialist: AC Carter
- Assistant linebackers coach: Mayur Chaudhari
- Cornerbacks coach: DeAngelo Hall
- Secondary coach: Renaldo Hill
- Defensive assistant: Ilir Emini
- Defensive assistant: Kevin Peterson
- Special teams/defensive assistant: Dwayne Stukes
