The Carolina Panthers' Week 6 opponent is making an addition to their quarterback room ahead of Sunday.
According to league insider Jordan Schultz, the Philadelphia Eagles are signing quarterback Joe Milton III off the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad. The move comes a day after the team ruled out starter Jalen Hurts due to a superficial blood clot in his calf.
A University of Tennessee standout, Milton was selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He would then be traded to the Cowboys in April of 2025.
Milton has appeared in five regular-season games, throwing for 424 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions on a 69.8-percent completion rate.
Philadelphia is expected to start 2023 sixth-round pick Tanner McKee
in place of Hurts this weekend. McKee has made two career starts, completing 48 of his 81 throws (59.3 percent) for 510 yards, three touchdowns and an interception.
