According to court records obtained by CBS Pittsburgh, former Carolina Panthers running back Miles Sanders was arrested in the Pittsburgh area for driving under the influence.
Sanders was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and careless driving on Monday, June 8 in Churchill Borough. Per the criminal complaint, an officer found Sanders "slumped over" in the driver's seat of his Lexus in the middle of William Penn Highway.

When Sanders exited his vehicle, police said his eyes were glossy and his breath smelled of alcohol. According to the complaint, Sanders admitted to drinking earlier in the day.
The 29-year-old performed poorly on the standardized field sobriety
tests and tested positive for alcohol after taking a portable breath test, police said. He was then taken into custody.
A package of marijuana was found in the vehicle, police added.
The Panthers signed Sanders—who spent his first four NFL campaigns with the Philadelphia Eagles—to a four-year, $25.4 million deal during the spring of 2023. He'd be released after just two of those seasons, having rushed for 637 yards and three touchdowns over 27 games.
His most recent stop came with the Dallas Cowboys in 2025, where he appeared in four games before sustaining a season-ending knee injury in October.
Sanders is due back in court in September.
