As usual, Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales is playing the injury report close to his vest.
On Tuesday, the team officially designated three players
to return to practice—running back Trevor Etienne (ankle), offensive tackle Taylor Moton (blood clot) and defensive lineman Tershawn Wharton (neck). All three were in uniform and participated, to an unspecified degree, in this afternoon's session. So, will any of them be able to suit up for Sunday's matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles? Head coach Dave Canales was asked exactly that following the workout.
"They all looked pretty good today," replied Canales, who told reporters that the team will hold off on providing further details until Wednesday. "We have to see how they respond to today's
physical practice, and they all got a good, significant amount of reps. That was the plan.
"As you can imagine, there's a ramp-up, training part of it—getting their body right. They're in great shape. Football shape's different. This is a collision sport, not a contact sport. So, wanted to see how their bodies respond to a physical, padded practice before we make any decisions."
Per Canales, we can expect to see an update on their statuses in an official injury report tomorrow—even as players are set to receive a day off.
