The Carolina Panthers may be adding yet another new inside linebacker to the mix.
According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, the team is signing Tyrel Dodson to their active roster. The 28-year-old defender was inked to Carolina's practice squad a few weeks ago.
Dodson is now set to enter his seventh pro campaign. He began his NFL career with the Buffalo Bills, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2019.
After registering four seasons in Buffalo, Dodson would split the 2024 campaign between the Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins. He'd amass 107 combined tackles, 2.0 sacks, three interceptions and a forced fumble.
2025 would prove to be Dodson's most productive season, as he notched career-highs in tackles (129) and sacks (5.0) with
the Dolphins.
Carolina's inside linebacker room already features three newcomers in 2026—including Pro Bowler Devin Lloyd, eighth-year veteran Bobby Okereke and rookie Jackson Kuwatch.
