The Carolina Panthers claimed one player off of waivers today, landing former Baltimore Ravens center Caleb Bullock to add some much-needed interior offensive line depth.
But they had to make room on their 53-man roster for Bullock, so somebody had to go. And that somebody, as announced by the team this afternoon, is guard Chandler Zavala—who has been waived.
A fourth-round pick by the Panthers in 2023, Zavala has appeared in 34 games with 14 starts. He was arguably one of Carolina's worst performers in the offensive trench over his three-year tenure.
Pro Football Focus graded Zavala out with a 43.5 overall offensive mark in 2025. That was weighed down by his awful pass blocking grade of 32.4.
Zavala did make the initial 53-man roster through last
night, but will now hit the waiver wire just a day later.
With Zavala on the outs, quarterback Bryce Young is the only remaining member of the Panthers' 2023 draft class.
