Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton wants to do more than just participate again here in Week 6.
The seventh-year lineman chatted with media from his locker following Thursday's practice. Wharton, who underwent neck surgery in the offseason, has yet to play a down in 2026—but seems to be nearing a return.
Here's what he told reporters this afternoon . . .

Wharton began the campaign on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. He was one of three players, along with running back Trevor Etienne and offensive tackle Taylor Moton, to be designated to return to practice
this past Tuesday.
2025 proved to be a disappointing first season in Carolina for Wharton. He'd miss eight of the team's 18 total games due to hamstring and toe injuries.
The Panthers have listed Wharton as a full participant for the first two sessions of the week.
