A former Carolina Panthers quarterback is headed to America's Team . . . or maybe just America's practice squad.
According to Todd Archer of ESPN, the Dallas Cowboys are set to sign Kyle Trask to their practice squad. The 28-year-old spent the summer with the Panthers before being released in the cutdown to their initial 53-man roster for the 2026 campaign.
Prior to his stop in Carolina, Trask entered the league as a second-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from the 2021 draft. The University of Florida standout would stick in Tampa for four seasons, then briefly joined the Atlanta Falcons during the 2025 offseason.
Trask, with the injury to undrafted rookie and third-string quarterback Haynes King, appeared in three preseason games for the Panthers
this past summer. He went on to complete 29 of his 41 passing attempts for 252 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
