Jimmy Horn Jr. might've fumbled his way off the Carolina Panthers roster.
As announced on Tuesday afternoon, the team has waived the second-year wide receiver off the active roster to make room for the addition of inside linebacker Tyrel Dodson. The Panthers selected Horn in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Horn, who had made Carolina's initial 53-man roster in both of his two NFL campaigns, served as the primary returner in Sunday's regular-season opener against the Chicago Bears. He would muff a punt on his first attempt of the outing, giving Chicago possession with the game tied at 21 apiece in the second quarter.
The 24-year-old appeared in 14 games for the Panthers between 2025 and 2026, amassing 11 receptions for 108 yards over 16 targets.
Dodson, who joined the Panthers as a member of their practice squad before the start of the regular season, will take Horn's place on the active roster.
