Three games into his fourth NFL season, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young is finally playing the way you'd expect from a No. 1 overall pick. He is currently leading the league in passing yards and ranks second in first downs, fifth in touchdowns and 11th in quarterback rating.
It took a while for Young to arrive at this level, but one area where he's always been an elite performer is in the intangibles category.
Ever since he was drafted, Young has consistently said the right things—taking responsibility for his failures and being humble when he's succeeding. That hasn't changed either.
Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Young gave credit to his teammates for the Panthers' hot start in the passing game . . .

This is what a quarterback is supposed to say, even if it's not necessarily true. For the most part, that's the case here—as Young has been left out to dry by his offensive line and has only gotten consistent results from Jalen Coker at wide receiver.
On the bright side, Carolina's tight ends are producing in the passing game, and running back Chuba Hubbard is playing as well as he has in several seasons. Young is also getting sharp play-calling from offensive coordinator Brad Idzik, who is in his first season with the sheet.
But if the offensive line doesn't start stepping up and doing their part, then all the rest of that good work from the supporting cast is likely to go to waste.
