One of the NFL's top tandems is now on the shelf.
As announced on Wednesday morning, the Carolina Panthers have placed starting cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson on injured reserve. Both sustained injuries during the team's 21-18 loss to the Cleveland Browns this past Sunday.
Jackson was the first to go down, departing the contest in the first quarter due to a groin injury. He'd be replaced by 2026 fourth-round pick Will Lee III, who recorded a career-high 64 defensive snaps in the defeat.
Horn exited late in the fourth quarter, after Cleveland's game-winning touchdown reception by tight end Harold Fannin Jr. Head coach Dave Canales told media on Monday that the two-time Pro Bowler sustained a "significant" quad injury—with multiple reports
indicating a tear that could sideline him for the rest of the campaign.
To fill their spots, the Panthers have signed running back Anthony "Tre" Tyus III and wide receiver David Moore—both of whom were elevated from the practice squad for Week 3—to the active roster. Carolina has also brought back veteran cornerback Robert Rochell to their practice squad.
