What is the story about?

The Carolina Panthers announced a big first wave of additions to their initial 2026 practice squad.

As made official on Monday afternoon, the following 12 players have signed on with the group:

RB Tre Tyus
WR David Moore
WR Ja'seem Reed
WR Casey Washington
OL Isaia Glass
G Jake Curhan
OLB Cam Gill
ILB Mapalo Mwansa (international exemption)
DL Parker Petersen
CB DeVonta Smith
CB Corey Thornton
S Isaiah Simmons

Moore and Reed are among the most notable members of the bunch. The former, a ninth-year veteran, is entering his third season in Carolina while the latter, a surprise cut on Sunday night, will try to build on his standout summer.

With Mwansa designated as an exemption through the NFL's International Player Pathway program, the Panthers will be permitted to carry up to 17 players on their practice squad. Five spots remain.
