Well, it didn't take long for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to feel at home at Nike. The two-time MVP winner made the brand switch from Converse to Nike in June 2026. He had previously spent the last six years with the shoe company that saw him grow from a promising prospect to an NBA superstar.
Now at Nike, Gilgeous-Alexander toured Nike at the Beaverton WHQ on Wednesday, Aug. 26. Part of the visit revealed an interesting wall decor — that perhaps hints at his new slogan with the shoe company giant. The saying 'Just Two It.' was plastered on the wall — alongside his Converse logo and Nike's logo. Of course, it's a play on words with Nike's infamous 'Just Do It' slogan.
Gilgeous-Alexander will likely drop his 'SHAI 002' under Nike. For now, though,
he's still rocking and rolling out the 'SHAI 001' with Converse. The Lace 'Cheetah' colorway is set to release on Thursday, Sept. 3.
As one of the era-defining NBA superstars of the 2020s, it makes sense for Nike to align itself with Gilgeous-Alexander. He's a powerful-enough basketball celebrity to carry the brand. The Oklahoma City Thunder remain one of the NBA's top teams. As a main character, expect them to play in front of a national audience for a while.
