OKC Thunder add NBA player to roster ahead of 2026-27 preseason opener

The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to wheel and deal through the outskirts of their roster. They added Anthony Pritchard to an Exhibit-10 contract on Tuesday. That means he'll be available to play in their 2026-27 preseason opener against the New Orleans Pelicans — in his hometown of Tulsa, OK.

The Thunder made the move just a handful of hours after they had waived Robert McCray V. He was also on an Exhibit-10 deal and participated in all of OKC's NBA training camp. He was an undrafted rookie. Guess he won't have a chance to suit up in any of their five preseason outings.

Meanwhile, the Thunder are familiar with Pritchard. He spent last season on the G League's OKC Blue. He averaged 11.2 points, 5.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 39 games this past

year. He was also part of their 2026 NBA Summer League squad. The 23-year-old is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound guard.

Pritchard played in four collegiate seasons from 2021-25. He spent his first two years at Tulsa and then his last two at Central Michigan. I guess this is their way of throwing him a bone for being a good soldier last year. He gets to play minutes in his hometown's BOK Center.

Because Pritchard is on an Exhibit-10 contract, the Thunder have gained his G League rights. Expect him to be part of the Blue for a second year in the upcoming 2026-27 regular season. Remains to be seen how long he'll be part of OKC's roster throughout the preseason, but he'll get at least one game in.

The Thunder are set to play their preseason opener against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday, Oct. 6. As mentioned earlier, they will play five games until Thursday, Oct. 15. After that, OKC is set to take part in Opening Night when it travels to face the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
