The OKC Blue fell short in a 97-89 loss to the Osceola Magic on Sunday. The road defeat dropped their record to 0-2 in the 2026-27 G League regular season.
Finally, the Blue had some high-end talent. Nikola Topic suited up for them. He's recovering from offseason back surgery he had in June 2026. Initially penciled to be ready by training camp, things have obviously played out differently. The 21-year-old played for the G League squad again.
The Blue had a 31-22 lead after the first quarter. Topic conducted the OKC offense. He made everybody better. And then the offense fell apart in the second frame. They only had 13 points in it. That put them in a 44-43 advantage at the halftime break.
That was enough from Topic. He sat out the second half.
The Magic took advantage of his absence. They had a 13-3 run in the second half. The Blue put up 26 points in the third quarter. The game was knotted up at 70 points apiece with a dozen minutes to go.
Afterward, the Blue absolutely let go of the rope. They were on the wrong side of a 20-7 run. OKC only had 19 points in the final frame. Osceola put this one away. Instead of a tight finish that came down to the final possession, the last minute was forgettable.
The Blue shot 41% from the field and went 5-of-29 (17.2%) from 3. They shot 12-of-16 on free throws. They had 13 assists on 31 baskets. Five Blue players scored double-digit points.
Meanwhile, the Magic shot 38% from the field and went 11-of-38 (28.9%) from 3. They shot 10-of-15 on free throws. They had 20 assists on 33 baskets. Four Magic players scored double-digit points.

- JD Davison: 26 points on 7-of-13 shooting, 2-of-4 from 3, 5-of-5 on free throws, five rebounds, four assists, four steals
- Malaki Branham: 23 points on 8-of-18 shooting, 1-of-6 from 3, five rebounds, two assists
- Au'Diese Toney: 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting, 2-of-7 from 3, five rebounds
