Now that the 2026-27 NBA preseason is behind us, the Oklahoma City Thunder have trimmed their roster. They announced on Friday that Zhaire Smith, Anthony Pritchard and Andrew Holifield. All three were on Exhibit-10 contracts during their time on the team.
That shouldn't be a shocker. The purpose of Exhibit-10 guys is to have extra bodies around training camp and preseason. Usually, the main rotation players play only about half of a preseason outing at most. Typically, the training camp invites get waived at the end.
Smith is the most notable of the bunch. He has an NBA pedigree as a 2018 first-round pick. Of course, his career was derailed by health problems with the Philadelphia 76ers. Pritchard spent time in the G League last season. And Holifield
went undrafted out of Lamar in the 2026 NBA draft.
The Thunder still have the G League rights for all three players. That means expect Smith, Pritchard and Holifield to likely spend the 2026-27 regular season on the OKC Blue. It is noteworthy, though, that Christoph Tilly remains on OKC's roster. He was the other Exhibit-10 player they added to start training camp and preseason.
Could Tilly get a two-way deal? Maybe. After all, Otega Oweh is out for the entire 2026-27 regular season with a torn Achilles tendon. Surely, the Thunder waive him to make use of the third two-way spot. I guess we'll see in the next few days as OKC is involved in Opening Night.
