Cost of living is a huge issue in many countries. In France, it has spiraled out of control.
For the second straight day, there were protests that turned into wild confrontations in France.
More than 1,000 people were arrested by French police. Estimates ranged as high as 400,000 people were protesting.
There were 70,000 police on duty to try and quell the uprisings across the country.
CNN reported, "Some protesters are lighting flares, while booms from police stun grenades can be heard as they erupt in the area. Police have been able to push the crowd back from some corners, though they have not been able to move the protesters on."
Water cannons were also used to try and calm or disperse the crowds.
