The news out of Minnesota wasn't good for J.J. McCarthy. The Vikings used the 10th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft on the Michigan quarterback. Is it too soon to label him a bust?
Kevin O'Connell announced on Wednesday that Carson Wentz would be Kyler Murray's backup. That relegates McCarthy to third string. Not good when you consider how high Minnesota selected him.
McCarthy missed his entire rookie season with knee issues. He played in 10 games last year, starting them all and going 6-4. However, McCarthy threw 11 TD passes against 12 interceptions.

Pro career: North Carolina QB has proven to be the franchise QB the Patriots have been looking for since Tom Brady. Last year was great. He has to build on a tough act to follow.

Pro career: Was phenomenal as a rookie. Injury-plagued in 2025. Bears watching carefully in 2026 to see how he rebounds. Washington needs him to be a mega-star.
Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams

Pro career: The Bears have to be thrilled they have Williams at QB. He delivered big time last year and looks like he has the stuff to be a star in the NFL for many years.
