Katie Zacharia's time as White House press secretary was short, and not sweet.
White House officials said Zacharia was "transitioning out" of her job after five days. Her first -- and only -- press briefing was awkward and clumsy. Then came the news that she misrepresented herself as a lawyer.
That was enough to give President Trump the impetus to give her a way out. "I said to Katie, 'You know, you don't have to do this if you don't want to," Trump said on Oct. 16, adding she's been treated "very rough" and "nastily" by the media. "I said, 'Honestly, if I were you, I'd reconsider. You think about it, but I'd reconsider.'"
A look at Zacharia during her short run with the White House.
