Fantasy Football draft season is in full swing. Those with teams are perusing rosters and stats to see what players are worth selecting. The quarterback position creates a great divide. Many believe it pays to wait because there won't be that big of a difference over the course of a season. Those who have selected Josh Allen in recent years would beg to disagree. What quarterbacks are worth a pick and when? And for leagues that go with a team quarterback, will look at the overall picture.
Arizona Cardinals
Jacoby Brissett and his QB room is worthy of a mid-to-late round pick. The Cardinals have a wealth of receivers, starting with Michael Wilson and TE Trey McBride. Those two alone will catch a ton of footballs and should find the end zone.
Atlanta Falcons
Lord, no. Hard pass.
Baltimore Ravens
So, Lamar Jackson is going to be more of a pocket passer? Does that mean the days of his 1,000-yard rushing seasons are finito? If so, he goes from a high pick to a mid-rounder. The question is whether Jackson can keep his mind on throwing the football and not take off.
Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen is a must pick even at age 30. He can deliver points with his arm and legs.
Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young continues to improve. However, at best Carolina is a late-round pick at QB.
Chicago Bears
Neither rain, nor sleet, nor Chicago weather will stop Caleb Williams from having a big season. He should be one of the first quarterbacks taken in most drafts.
Cincinnati Bengals
If, and this is always the if, Joe Burrow can stay upright and healthy, he makes Cincinnati a good choice in the third, fourth or fifth round. If he is injured, better look to the waiver wire for another team.
Cleveland Browns
Deshaun Watson? Nothing personal, but a hard pass.
Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott may not win playoff games or get Dallas to the Super Bowl. He will, however, put up huge numbers, especially with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens to target. A mid-round choice.
Denver Broncos
Everyone seems to love Bo Nix. Still not totally sold he is a difference-maker in fantasy. Would wait until later rounds to see if you can grab the Broncos' QB.
Detroit Lions
Jared Goff has incredible options when it comes to the offense. He can throw to receivers like Amon-Ra St. Brown, for one. Jahmyr Gibbs will take away some points with his running ability but expect him to play a roll in the passing game, too. Good pick in the fifth or sixth round is Goff.
Green Bay Packers
With Josh Jacobs on the Commissioner's List, Jordan Love should be expected to throw the ball ... a lot. Good pick in the middle rounds.
Houston Texans
Absolutely not sold on C.J. Stroud. Too many flaws last year to bank on him as your quarterback.
Indianapolis Colts
Daniel Jones was great before being injured. He's coming back and this should be a wait-and-see approach. Caution when picking. Maybe deep in drafts.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Is Trevor Lawrence the great QB everyone expect him to be out of Clemson? He has shown signs and could lead the Jags to another strong season. Still, wouldn't reach for him until late in the middle rounds or after that.
Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes is ready to roll. Take him as early as the fourth round and he could lead you to a title.
Las Vegas Raiders
Matters not whether Kirk Cousins or Fernando Mendoza. This team is a recipe for failure on the field and in Fantasy Football at QB.
Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert will put up strong Fantasy Football numbers even if he doesn't lead the Chargers on a deep playoff run. Middle-to-late round choice.
Los Angeles Rams
Matthew Stafford was the MVP last year. He is another year older and that can't help. Wouldn't go for him early. Patience could make him a good pick later in selection process.
Miami Dolphins
Um, no thanks, on Malik Willis, or anyone else.
Minnesota Vikings
Kyler Murray will be an interesting player to watch. He is on a better team than the Cardinals. Has excellent receiving targets and should have to do some running thanks to the state of Minnesota's backfield. Good pick early in later rounds.
New England Patriots
Drake Maye threw for 4,394 yards and 31 touchdowns in his first full season as a starter in New England. Heady numbers. Even if he is just close to those he should be one of the first QBs taken.
New Orleans Saints
Have to say Tyler Shough could be someone to keep an eye on if you eventually need to dip into the waiver wire.
New York Giants
Is Jaxson Dart going to stay on the field or spend more time in the blue tent? Take late, if at all.
New York Jets
Geno Smith is a hard pass when it comes to picking a passer.
Philadelphia Eagles
Hate on Jalen Hurts all you want but he can score rushing touchdowns as well as throw for scores. Mid-to-late rounder.
Pittsburgh Steelers
You would have to be desperate to go with Aaron Rodgers in your fantasy league as a QB.
San Francisco 49ers
Brock Purdy picks up another strong target in Mike Evans. George Kittle is ready to roll. And the Niners can still find Christian McCaffrey out of the backfield. Good pick early in middle rounds.
Seattle Seahawks
Sam Darnold will throw for a lot of yards and touchdowns. Take him in the middle rounds, preferably early.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Just have a feeling that Baker Mayfield has run out of magic in Tampa Bay. Pass on this passer.
Tennessee Titans
There is no way to go with Cam Ward with Brian Daboll the OC. No way.
Washington Commanders
Look for strong season from Jayden Daniels. A good choice late in the middle rounds.
