The Big Ten issued a statement regarding the controversial finish of the Western Michigan-Michigan game in Ann Arbor on Saturday.
The conference said after reviewing replays, there was a second left on the clock when a Western Michigan player, No. 18 Micah Davis, touched the Bryce Underwood Hail Mary after stepping out of bounds in the back of the end zone.
Once the ball was touched by a player who was out of bounds, it was dead.
That was the explanation for how a second was put back on the clock, setting up the Underwood pass caught by JJ Buchanan to give the Wolverines a 13-12 victory, avoiding a massive upset.

Micah Davis is a safety
from Dexter, Michigan, who spent two seasons with the Wolverines before transferring to the Broncos.
