When Ryan Preece won for the first time in 249 Cup Series starts, he earned the 16th and final spot in the battle for the championship.
The next 10 races will settle who is going to rule the Cup Series in 2026. Points were reset heading into the Chase and they will see Denny Hamlin atop the field of 16 drivers.
