There are a couple of amazing matchups in Week 5 of the NFL schedule.
NFC West titans get together as the Seattle Seahawks face the San Francisco 49ers.
Another NFC West challenger, the Los Angeles Rams goes up against the Buffalo Bills in what could be a Super Bowl preview at SoFi Stadium.
The worst game? And it is the worst matchup of the year to date has the winless Texans facing the winless Titans. Imagine if it ends up in a tie.
The Chiefs and Panthers are on byes.
15. Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans, Oct. 11, CBS, 1 p.m.
At this point, this is the worst game of the year on the schedule. Go figure that the Houston Texans would be winless. No surprise the Titans are. If Houston doesn't win here, the season is sunk. Prediction: Texans 31. Titans 3
14. Cincinnati Bengals vs. Miami Dolphins, Oct. 11, FOX, 1 p.m.
The Bengals find a way to be consistently inconsistent.
They are 2-2 and need to take care of business against the winless Fish. Joe Burrow may be tested to the max ... by his own team. Ja'Marr Chase is in concussion protocol and Tee Higgins is day-to-day with an adductor injury. Prediction: Bengals 23, Dolphins 16
13. Cleveland Browns vs. New York Jets, Oct. 11, CBS, 1 p.m.
The good news for Aaron Glenn is the Jets aren't in last place thanks to the Dolphins. This week they face the 3-1 Cleveland Browns. The Jets are somehow a slight favorite. Feels now of never for Glenn. Prediction: Jets 20, Browns 17.
12. New York Giants vs. Washington Commanders, Oct. 11, FOX, 1 p.m.
Jayden Daniels is expected to return so there will be a quarterback battle between Heisman winners with Jameis Winston. There is a 10-year difference between when each won the award. Prediction: Commanders 27, Giants 23
11. Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers, Oct. 11, CBS, 1 p.m.
The Colts return from overseas where they clobbered the Commanders. The Steelers aren't anything great but the feeling is they will do enough to get to 3-2. Prediction: Steelers 24, Colts 20
10. Detroit Lions vs. Arizona Cardinals, Oct. 11, FOX, 4:25 p.m.
The Lions have lost their two road games this year. The Cardinals lost their lone home contest. Would expect plenty of offense as neither team plays great defense, if any. Prediction: Lions 33, Cardinals 30
9. Baltimore Ravens vs. Atlanta Falcons, Oct. 11, NBC, 8:20 p.m.
If Lamar Jackson can't go here, the Ravens are looking at an uphill battle. All signs point to him being doubtful to out. Michael Penix Jr. and the Falcons are on the verge of being an offensive juggernaut. Prediction: Falcons 31, Ravens 23
8. Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Chargers, Oct. 11, CBS, 4:05 p.m.
Teams that both need wins. The Broncos won't want to go under .500 after five weeks. The Chargers certainly can't afford to go 0-5. Awful offensive coordinators on display. Prediction: Broncos 20, Chargers 16
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys, Oct. 8, Amazon Video, 8:15
Look to Dallas to light up the winless Buccaneers, who are still without Baker Mayfield. Prediction: Cowboys 27, Buccaneers 13
6. Philadelphia Eagles vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, Oct. 11, NFLN, 9:30 a.m.
The Eagles have big backfield problems and now Lane Johnson has retired. Wishing the great right tackle the best. The Jaguars are quietly becoming a force, allowing 53 points in four games. Prediction: Jaguars 26, Eagles 24
5 . Minnesota Vikings vs. New Orleans Saints, Oct. 11, FOX, 1 p.m.
The Saints come off a disappointing effort against the Falcons. Minnesota is 4-0 thanks mainly to Brian Flores' defense. Short week could hurt New Orleans. Prediction: Saints 23, Vikings 21
4. Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers, Oct. 11, FOX, 1 p.m.
Green Bay appears to be a shell of itself since the middle of last season. The Bears play great defense, per usual, and do enough on offense to get the job done. They have a stellar 1-2 punch at running back. Prediction: Bears 17, Packers 16
3. Las Vegas Raiders vs. New England Patriots, Oct. 11, CBS, 1 p.m.
New England came back to life in its win at Buffalo. The Raiders are no longer a pushover but this will be too much. They lost to the Chiefs and will lose to another contender. Prediction: Patriots 27, Raiders 23
2. Buffalo Bills vs. Los Angeles Rams, Oct. 12, ABC/ESPN, 8:15 p.m.
The Bills appeared to be rolling and then were derailed at home by the Patriots. The Rams used a late rally against the Eagles to go 2-2. Matthew Stafford has 6 TD passes against 6 picks. Not MVP numbers. Prediction: Rams 34, Bills 30
1. San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks, Oct. 11, FOX, 4:25 p.m.
Fantastic matchup that FOX has as its big game in the late window. The Niners are playing incredible football. Seattle somehow lost at Washington before rebounding against the Chargers. This could come down to the last second. Great game in Week 5. Prediction: Seahawks 28, 49ers 27
