There is an interesting situation unfolding in East Lansing around the collegiate football career of Michigan State football wide receiver Rodney Bullard Jr.. Bullard is filing an injunction against the NCAA as he attempts to be made eligible for the 2026 football season, where he would be presumed to be a starter for the Spartans.
The issue, without going too deep into the details (The Detroit News did a deep dive for those curious), is that Bullard was only a part-time student at Valdosta State in 2021, when he wasn't even playing football, but the NCAA is starting his clock in 2021 because one extra course may have them viewing that year as a full-time student enrollment.
Bullard has only played three seasons of football over the course of his
college career and has been practicing with the Spartans this summer with the intent to play, but now the courts will decide his fate.
