One of the biggest national media analysts in college basketball is expecting big things from Jordan Scott this season.
We are quickly approaching the college basketball season, with the Spartans set to begin exhibition play next month. With the college basketball season nearly here, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports has released a list of 15 players that he believes will emerge as stars this season. On that list is a Spartan: Jordan Scott.
Scott was one of 15 players named by Rothstein as a breakout star candidate. This seems to be a common opinion after Scott showed flashes of strong play on both ends of the floor as a true freshman last year.
Scott appeared in 35 games last year, including 13 starts, where he averaged 5.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per
game. He shot 37 percent from three-point range and provided stout defense, especially late in the season.
Scott is expected to be the regular starter for the Spartans at shooting guard this season. With Michigan State having aspirations of winning a national championship, Scott emerging into a star would certainly help turn that into a reality. Hopefully, Rothstein is right about Scott since it would go a long way for the Spartans moving forward.
