The preseason honors continue to roll in for Jeremy Fears Jr.. The expectations are high this year for the Michigan State basketball star point guard, and he's on pace to make virtually every preseason All-American team and Player of the Year watchlist. Another big one came in on Thursday, as Fears was named to the NABC's Player of the Year Preseason Watchlist.
The NABC refers to the National Association of Basketball Coaches, giving their Player of the Year winner a lot of weight. Three Spartans have won the award since its introduction in the 1974-75 season. Those players are:
- Shawn Respert
- Draymond Green
- Denzel Valentine
Recent winners include Duke's Cameron Boozer and Cooper Flagg, and Purdue's Zach Edey won it two years in a row.
