Michigan State football has fallen for the third consecutive week, and consequentially has fallen below the .500 mark in the 2026 season, dropping to 2-3 (0-2 B1G) on the season. The Spartans were dominated by Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon, losing 31-3.
Offense, defense and special teams, the Spartans got dominated in all three phases of the game. Now, Michigan State will be circling the wagons, and identifying what needs to be fixed before they step on the field with Illinois.
After looking at the film, and evaluating the game, Pro Football Focus (Subscription Required) gave out their grades for the Spartans in the game. Check out the bottom five players (minimum five snaps) for the Spartans, according to PFF:
- S Nikai Martinez - 31.8
- DT Mikeshun Beeler - 40.2
- LB Cam Stodghill - 47.3
- TE Brennan Parachek - 48.8
- OG Luka Vincic - 51.5
With three of these five being
major playing time contributors, the Spartans are going to aim to find a better effort against Illinois from this group.
