Who has been the most consistent position group during the fall preseason camp? New head coach Pat Fitzgerald has answered that question for us.
With opening kickoff only a few days away, Fitzgerald provided an interesting nugget of information during his weekly radio show on which position has been the most consistent in fall camp. That would be the running backs.
Per a social media post from Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press, Fitzgerald stated the running backs room as been the "most consistent" position group during preseason fall camp. That position group is led by new UConn transfer Cam Edwards, who has also received high-praise from Fitzgerald during fall camp.
On his debut radio show, new coach Pat Fitzgerald says he liked the growth
of OL/DL/WR during MSU preseason camp but points to RB room as most consistent.

Along with the running backs, Fitzgerald called out the offensive line, defensive line and wide receivers as positions where he saw growth that he liked. Those are three key position groups for Michigan State, with plenty of turnover specifically to the defensive line and wide receivers.
Michigan State is set to open the season officially on Friday, with a home matchup against Toledo. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and will be televised on FS1.
