Could Michigan State football be getting back a critical player for this week's upcoming game against Illinois? The first availability report for this matchup shows that is trending in the right direction.
The first availability report for this week's Michigan State-Illinois game has been released, with some potential positive news for the Spartans. Michigan State captain and star linebacker Jordan Hall has been upgraded from doubtful at this time last week to questionable this week. Hall missed last week's matchup against Wisconsin after suffering an injury the week prior against Nebraska.
Hall has been banged up for a good portion of this season, missing action in two of the Spartans' five games so far this year. It's unclear the severity of his most
recent injury in the loss to Nebraska so this is refreshing news to hear he may be able to return this week against Illinois.
Michigan State has lost three straight games -- all of which came by more than three scores. The Spartans are now 2-3 overall and 0-2 in Big Ten play, and in must-win territory in order to reach a bowl game this season.
Spartans backup quarterback Cam Fancher and starting cornerback Tre Bell are also listed as questionable for this game. Having both of those players available against the Fighting Illini would be a big positive for the Spartans as well.
