A former Spartan has just found out his fate in training camp, and unfortunately, it was not news that he was looking for. Naquan Jones was cut by the Houston Texans, failing to make the 53-man roster.
Jones, a 2016-2020 standout for Michigan State, went undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. Since then, he has carved out a nice little NFL career for himself. The defensive tackle has had stints with the Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Chargers. Appearing in 60 career games, Jones has racked up 102 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.
With his NFL experience, and being at a position of need like defensive tackle, Jones will surely get a look at a depth spot somewhere in the league this season.
