The NFL career of a beloved former Michigan State football player will officially continue. On Thursday, it was announced that former MSU cornerback Josh Butler has been signed to the Chicago Bears' practice squad.
Butler played for Mark Dantonio and the Spartans from 2015 to 2019 as a 3-star recruit from Mesquite, Texas. Butler had a nice career for the Spartans before going undrafted in 2020. He started his career in the Spring League before signing with the Michigan Panthers of the UFL. He finally got his big break in 2023 when he signed with the Dallas Cowboys, where he played from 2023 to 2025. He played this season with the Ottawa Redblacks of the CFL before getting this opportunity with the Bears.
