An annually in-state rivalry will return again this year, with Oakland officially announcing they'll play at the Breslin Center in late December this season.
Michigan State men's basketball has yet to release their schedule for the upcoming season, but teams throughout the country have been doing so over the last month. That included Oakland on Wednesday, who announced they'll play at Michigan State on December 22. With this game being only a few days before Christmas, we can assume there will be some ugly sweaters worn again this year by the Tom Izzo and Greg Kampe.
Michigan State is 23-0 all-time against Oakland, with this season marking the 20th straight season these two teams have met. There have been some close calls through the years for
the Spartans despite a perfect record all-time against the Grizzlies. Michigan State won by the final score of 79-70 last year in a neutral site game in Detroit.
While the official non-conference schedule has not yet been released for the Spartans, we nearly have learned of all their out of conference matchups this year. The full up-to-date schedule for the Spartans can be found here.
