You might start to get sick of hearing 'Jeremy Fears is a preseason All-American' because that's going to be coming out from different outlets every few days until the season starts. For us, it never gets old to report on the Spartans' star guard getting more well-deserved hype. On Wednesday,CBS Sports debuted their 2026-27 All-American teams
, and Fears was a unanimous First Team All-American for their analysts. Here is part of what CBS Sports writer Isaac Trotter had to say about Fears in the article:
Fears is a wizard playmaker who led all of college basketball in assists (9.4 per game) last season. Fears' 53.1 assist rate was the best mark in the last two decades, according to KenPom.com, and he flirted with a mind-boggling 4-to-1, assist-to-turnover
ratio. No Big Ten player has ever averaged more than 10 assists in a single season, but Fears could change that and put his name in the Big Ten record books forever.
This is the second major accolade for Fears of the preseason. He was recently named the preseason Big Ten Player of the Year by the Big Ten Network.
