Michigan State football is listed as a slight underdog in what has turned into a must-win against Illinois this upcoming weekend.
The Spartans have opened as essentially a field goal underdog for their homecoming matchup against the Fighting Illini on Saturday. According to FanDuel, Michigan State is listed as a 2.5-point underdog against Illinois this week. The over/under points total is set at 48.5 points.
Michigan State is struggling at the moment, losing each of its last three games by double-digits. This past week's road loss at Wisconsin was the worst loss yet, losing by the final score of 31-3. The Spartans are now 2-3 overall and 0-2 in Big Ten play this year.
Illinois is also off to a rough start to the season, with a similar record of 2-3
overall and 0-2 in Big Ten play. The Fighting Illini were upset this past weekend against Purdue and have now lost two straight games.
Kickoff between Michigan State and Illinois is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
