Michigan State hockey opened the 2026-27 season in unofficial fashion on Friday evening, hosting Boston College in an exhibition inside of Munn Ice Arena. It was the first chance for Spartan nation to get a look at their hockey team for the upcoming season.
The season started off on the right foot for the Spartans, who pulled off a 5-2 victory over the Eagles.
A pair of Spartans had two goals in the contest, with Anthony Romany and Eric Nilson both scoring two on the night, while Mason West added the fifth and final goal of the night for MSU. Both goaltenders Joshua Ravensburg and Quentin Sigurdson played in net, letting in a goal a piece.
