It has been a couple of weeks since Michigan State athletics has welcomed Dan Bartholomae as its new athletic director. Bartholomae has taken over following the departing of J Batt to Kentucky.
In the interim, in Batt’s absence, Jon Palumbo took over as the interim athletic director of the program and put himself in serious contention for the permanent job. Now, after not receiving the permanent position, Palumbo will also be departing Michigan State.
Palumbo will be following Batt to Kentucky, where he will take over as the Executive Deputy Athletics Director and Deputy CEO of Champions Blue, LLC.
The departure leaves a void at Michigan State, as Palumbo not only served as the executive deputy athletics director and chief operating officer, but
also as the CEO of Spartan Ventures.
