When it comes to winning the national championship this season, Michigan State is listed as one of the betting favorites.
Updated betting odds from BetMGM have the Spartans listed as a favorite to cut down the nets in Detroit in April. According to a post from college basketball analyst Jeff Goodman, Michigan State has the fifth best odds to win the national championship at +1800.
The four teams with better odds than the Spartans are Florida and Duke (+600), UConn (+1100) and Illinois (+1200). Tied with the Spartans is Texas at +1800, and right behind Michigan State is Arizona and Louisville at +2000.
Michigan State enters the season ranked No. 6 nationally in the Associated Press preseason poll. So that preseason ranking essentially lines up with
the betting odds currently posted on BetMGM.
Michigan State opens the 2026-27 regular season on November 2 against Quinnipiac. They'll play one more exhibition game before then against Marquette on Sunday.
