A former Michigan State football star linebacker has been signed to the local Detroit Lions' practice squad.
Former Spartans linebacker Joe Bachie has been signed to the Detroit Lions' practice squad. The move comes one day after he was released by the Lions as part of their 53-man roster cut downs. Bachie had a strong showing during training camp, with some believing he would make the Lions' roster. But at least he will now still remain with the organization on their practice squad.
Bachie is entering his seventh season in the NFL, playing most recently for the Tennessee Titans this past season. In his career, he has appeared in 66 games (including seven starts) and recorded 77 tackles and two passes defended.
Bachie starred for the Spartans from
2016 to 2019, appearing in 39 games during his Michigan State career. He finished his college career with 284 tackles, eight sacks, five interceptions, two fumble recovers and four forced fumbles.
