The National Hockey League is getting started on Tuesday, and ahead of that start, teams had to make final decisions on their rosters. Unfortunately for one Spartan, he was left off of an NHL roster, and instead, sent to the AHL affiliate.
Mackenzie MacEachern will begin the season with the Abbotsford Canucks after failing to make the Vancouver Canucks opening night roster.
A Spartan from 2013 to 2016, MacEachern has been a professional sine the 2016-17 season, spending six of those years in the NHL. The first five years were spent with the St. Louis Blues, with this past year being with the Canucks, after he was acquired in a deadline trade.
In 131 career games, he has secured 12 goals and 12 assists in his NHL career.
