The Washington Huskies are picking up a lot of steam, as Jedd Fisch's team has become a mainstay in preseason rankings and has the youth to become a consistent power in the college football world.
Led by quarterback Demond Williams Jr., a trio of 2025 Freshman All-Americans: offensive lineman John Mills, safety Rylon Dillard-Allen, and wide receiver Dezmen Roebuck, along with a host of freshmen expected to play big roles this fall, including left tackle Kodi Greene, defensive linemen Derek Colman-Brusa and Ramzak Fruean, wide receivers Jordan Clay and Trez Davis, and defensive backs Gavin Day and Jeron Jones, the Huskies are widely regarded as a team on the rise.
Among the national pundits placing the Huskies in that category is Rivals' Steve

"They're investing," Wiltfong told On3's Andy Staples and Ari Wasserman. "Top 15 class (in 2026), Jedd Fisch has a lot of swagger, they're not backing down from the Big Ten. Washington's a program; they were as consistent a team in the Pac-12 before they merged into the Big Ten. We saw them make the College Football Playoff and play in big bowl games, so there's a track record of major success at Washington."
That track record of success has carried over on the recruiting trail under Fisch's leadership, and could help the Huskies build a stable program in the near future.
"They have support around that program; this is a recruiting class that had some monster recruiting wins...2027 is a top 25 class, and then 2028, they're trending for five-star edge Jalanie George already, and they've done some nice things in the transfer portal. They're a team to watch for the College Football Playoff, in my opinion, year in and year out because of the support and infrastructure they're getting."
