Former Washington Huskies star cornerback Kyler Gordon has had a lot of bad luck on the injury front over his last year with the Chicago Bears.
Not long after the second-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft inked a three-year, $40 million extension with the organization, he suffered various calf, hamstring, and groin issues that limited him to just three games during the 2025 season. Then, he was placed on the physically unable to perform list with another calf issue during fall camp.
"Obviously, he's frustrated. We're frustrated. Everybody here is putting their time and effort into getting him back," general manager Ryan Poles told the media in July.
After a lot of confusion surrounding his status, Gordon appears to be getting closer to returning
to action.

According to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Gordon has stepped away from the Bears to work with a personal trainer in hopes of accelerating his recovery. The organization plans to have him return to practice within the next few weeks, as he has to miss at least the first four games of the year after placing him on the PUP list.
When healthy, Gordon has been a key piece of Chicago's defense, while mainly lining up in the nickel. In his career, he's generated 214 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, 17 pass breakups, 5 interceptions, 5 fumble recoveries, and 2 forced fumbles.
